Nandan Nilekani, non-executive chairman of Infosys, referred to the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) as a crown jewel of India's technology sector during the Global Fintech Fest (GFF) in Mumbai. He praised NPCI for exceeding expectations and serving as a template for various digital initiatives. Nilekani highlighted that India is moving towards a formal, high-productivity economy as more people join the digital society. NPCI also showcased new UPI products, including Hello UPI, which enables real-time voice-activated payments. NPCI aims to process 100 billion transactions per month and has achieved significant growth in UPI transactions, with 350 million users and further growth opportunities.
